SYMSITES

The impact of climate change has pushed countries and organizations worldwide to look for greener energy as well as industrial and everyday life solutions. In reaction to linear behavior (extract, use, waste…), companies and public organizations should learn from the closed loops of natural ecosystems. This is closely linked with ideas regarding the circular economy. In this context, the EU-funded SYMSITES project aims to develop new technologies and stakeholder engagement methodologies to improve resource efficiency through local/regional collaboration. The focus is on the valorization of underused material and energy resources (waste, by-products) that can be used by other actors within the network. This project will be carried out in 4 European regions, different in their social, economic and environmental aspects.
