TExTOUR – Social Innovation and TEchnologies for sustainable growth through participative cultural TOURism

Cultural tourism (CT) is a major factor in the tourism sector. It is based on the high cultural, social and environmental potential of certain regions and places. But it also depends on other factors, such as know-how and ICT. The EU-funded TExTOUR project will work with eight CT pilots in lesser-known regions to invent and design collaborative working methods for the development of CT policies and strategies. The project will apply ICT and innovative tools with a focus on the positive impact of such strategies and policies on socio-economic territorial development. TExTOUR will design a technological platform to evaluate CT policies, while each pilot will establish communities of laboratories for the implementation of these policies.
